FEE SCHEDULE

On criminal cases I have flat fees. Flat fees means that the fee does not increase or decrease. You must
pay for discovery costs and expert fees. There are no hidden costs or fees. I use written retainer
agreements. I accept all major credit cards.

  • DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED OR POINTS OFFENSES.........................................$750.
This is based on no more than two court appearances. Additional appearances are $350 for each court appearance.
  • DRUNK DRIVING-DWI-DUI-1st or 2nd offense........................................................$2500
Trial is an additional $2500. It is your decision whether we go to trial or not. You do not have to pay for a trial up front. I think you should have a trial only if you can win. The great majority of DUI cases do not go to trial. It is very easy for the state to win most cases. All they have to show is that you drove the car and that your reading on the alcotest is at or above .08%. To prove that the alcotest is working properly all the state has to do is submit current documents to the judge. You have no right to have the state present witnesses to testify as to this. Once the state submits the documents they have to show that the police changed mouthpieces for each test, that the tests are after 20 minutes of observation, and that the tests are within .01 of each other.
  • DRUNK DRIVING-DWI-DUI-3rd offense or more......................................................$3000.
Again, a trial is an additional $2500. See above.
  • SIMPLE ASSAULT, SHOPLIFTING, OTHER DISORDERLY PERSONS OFFENSES....$1500.
There is no additional fee for a trial. However, if the court appearances are more than 3, Icharge $350 for each additional court appearance.
  • EARLY DISPOSITION CONFERENCE or the like......................................................$2500
This is a court appearance in Superior Court before the prosecutor presents the case to
grand jury. Generally this is to apply for PTI, or to accept a no-jail plea offer to a felony.
  • FELONY..................................................................................................................$10,000
This is my minimum fee. It goes up based on the complexity of the case.
  • MURDER..................................................................................................................$35,000.
These cases take 1-2 years before they go to trial. It is often worthwhile to try the
case because the penalty is so severe. Generally trials take 2-3 weeks.
  • FEDERAL COURT.....................................................................................................$50,000.
This is my minimum fee. It may increase depending on complexity. If these cases go to
trial, trial often takes months. Pre-indictment work-i.e., trying to persuade the US
Attorney to not indict you, or not send you to prison, is a minimum of $10,000.

  • CIVIL
All civil work is billed at $350 per hour, on tenths of an hour. Retainer is $10,000. Bills are payable within 30 days. A bill is overdue if any part is not paid within 30 days. Interest is 1% per month on any overdue amount. If bills are not paid within 2 months I will withdraw from the case.
